Description

2001, USA.  Solid cedar soundboard with six fan braces, Indian rosewood back and sides, mahogany neck, 650 mm scale length, 53 mm nut width, 21 mm raised fingerboard, 20th fret, French polished finish, Irving Sloane tuners with “Moresque” design baseplate and ivoroid knobs, “V” headstock joint, small dot fret markers at VII and XII, intonation compensation at both nut and saddle.  Kling-on top protectors on the soundboard have not disturbed the finish, ErgoPlay suction cup protectors on the side.  This guitar was originally made for our shop, and has had only one owner.  As to be expected from a world renown luthier, all the boxes are checked for this masterful instrument.  Concert quality projection, evenly balanced, with a rich clear timbre.  The tone has developed beautifully over time.  The generously raised fingerboard makes everything above the 12th fret accessible.  Structurally as precise as when it was first built, and the soundboard has maintained it’s original shape.  Intonation is as good as it gets with both the nut and saddle compensated.  Byers’ workmanship makes this instrument as beautiful visually as it is in sound.  Expected signs of use on the soundboard, fingernail marks, and a small ding.  The original case is in like-new condition since it has been kept in a thickly padded case cover, which is also in fine condition.
