GERARDO ESCOBEDO – Cedar and Indian – 2019

2019, Paracho, Mexico.  Solid cedar soundboard, 7 fan braces, Indian rosewood back and sides, 650 mm scale, 52 mm nut width, truss rod, 12 hole tieblock, 20th fret, dot fret marker at VII, 12 hole tieblock, Schaller tuners.  Lutherie in Paracho dates back to the 18th century with the art handed down through generations.  Gerardo Escobedo grew under his father’s instruction and made his first guitar at age 16.  The tone here is on the bright side for cedar with clarity and separation at the forefront.  Great balance, the trebles really sing out.  Excellent projection.
