THOMAS HUMPHREY – Spruce and CSA – 1983

Description

1983, USA.  Pre-millenium, Solid German spruce soundboard, 5 fan braces, CSA back and sides, 660 mm scale, 50 mm nut width, custom Rodgers tuners with mother-of-pearl knobs, 20th fret, french polished finish.  Fretboard replaced and soundboard repolished by Humphrey in 2004.  This spruce soundboard has a robust depth of tone that only maturity can produce.  The sound tends toward the warmer side of the spruce tone spectrum with excellent clarity and separation.  This is one of Humphrey’s best which easily equals the millenium models.  Structurally sound; the shape of the neck and soundboard are excellent.  Expected signs of use.  The 50 mm nut width and slim neck make this an easy instrument to play.
