2019, USA. Solid spruce soundboard with 7 fan braces, figured CSA back and sides, 650 mm scale, 52 mm nut width, 20th fret, Rubner tuners, fret markers at V VII IX XII, french polished finish. Over the years Gutmeier has utilized a wide variety of construction techniques, including solid soundboards, doubletops, soundports, and a variety of bracing patterns. All resulted in great instruments, and it was clear that a luthier of his ability was controlling the outcome. Having heard the beauty some of Santos Hernandez’ guitars, he developed a design inspired by that famous builder. Not a slavish copy, but in sound and construction, a beautiful musical instrument that emulates Santos Hernandez’ aesthetic. It is a rare spruce guitar that has a huge warm sound such as this, with clarity and balance. Tone colors in abundance. This instrument will take you where you want to go musically in any venue.
