PAMPA GROUP – Spruce and Grenadillo – 2009

$4,000.00

Description

Argentina, 2009.  Solid spruce soundboard, lattice braced with carbon fiber and balsa, 650 mm scale, 53 mm nut width, 20 mm raised fingerboard, armrest, 12 hole tieblock, 20th fret, carved back, lacquer finish, Schaller tuners, wedge shaped body reminiscent of Humphrey.  The Pampa Group was a group of four Argentine luthiers.  The best known to me is Ricardo Louzao, and this guitar shows much of his influence.  Originally acquired from our shop by the sole owner, who has aged-out of using it.  She kept it in excellent condition with minimal signs of use.  Surprisingly for spruce, the sound is warm and robust.  Obviously well played in.  In this case someone has already loosened up the soundboard for you.  Excellent projection and distinctive clarity.  In terms of sound per dollar, this is a tremendous value.  Easy action, and very comfortable to play thanks to the raised fingerboard and armrest.
