Description
1992, New York. Solid spruce soundboard, 7 fan, Indian rosewood back and sides, 653 mm scale, 52 mm nut width, ebony neck reinforcement, french polished finish, Schaller tuners. Nicholas Ioannou, a Greek/American luthier, built guitars in New York city at a time when Velasquez, Papazian, Del Pilar and others were active there. Lovely tone that yields a solid fundamental, even balance, and good sustain. Not the current powerhouse that will rattle the windows, but excellent for moderate sized rooms. Used by a guitar major, and then sat in the case for many years. Looking forward to hearing the spruce soundboard wake up with regular use. Structurally sound, no cracks that I can find. Signs of use, some finish checking and wear on the back, but nothing serious.
