HILL GUITAR Co. RUCK Model – Cedar and Indian – 2000

2000, USA.  Solid cedar soundboard, Indian rosewood back and sides, fan braced with Ruck’s design of alternating flat and raised braces, sound ports on both sides of the heel, 650 mm scale, 51 mm nut width, truss rod, French polished finish.  In this period of time, Kenny Hill made some very faithful and effective reproductions of classic designs, including this one, with Robert Ruck’s permission, which incorporated innovative features for a classical guitar, such as the truss rod, sound ports, and bracing.  This instrument is as structurally sound as when it was new.  No concave dip between the sound hole and the bridge, nor any rising up between the bridge and the end of the guitar.  It originally sold new for $3,000 and now is a great value for only $1,500.  The sound cannot be beat at this price.  Fine balance, clarity and projection.  Some fingernail marks on the sound board, and a couple of slight dings elsewhere.  Just the normal signs of use, nothing objectionable.
