Carlos Piña – Spruce and Indian – 2022

2022, Paracho, Mexico.  #370, Hauser model, solid German spruce soundboard with 7 fan braces, Indian rosewood back and sides, 650 mm scale, 52 mm nut width, V headstock joint, Schaller tuners, shellac varnish finish.   Lutherie in Paracho dates back to the 18th century and Sr. Piña is one of the older luthiers.  He has successfully worked the Hauser design to create that distinctive sound.  The tone is round and full; velvety would be a good adjective.  Very responsive with an abundant variety of tonal colors.   The basses have a true bass timbre, and the smooth trebles sing out.  This guitar is the work of a highly skilled luthier drawing on years of experience.
